GROW Gippsland helping local businesses win work
Small and medium enterprises across Gippsland now have improved access to tailored procurement advice following the appointment of two Local Procurement Advisers through GROW Gippsland.
As well as providing one-on-one support to Gippsland businesses, the Local Procurement Advisers will facilitate workshops and training sessions to build procurement capability and readiness.
GROW Gippsland Program Manager, Cameron Spence said a critical part of the new roles will be to help establish relationships with project proponents and facilitate local business engagement.
“The Local Procurement Advisers will help local SMEs connect with procurers, prime contractors, employment services and other business support programs.”
The Local Procurement Advisers will also work closely with training providers and employment services to understand the future project pipeline for the region, employment requirements, and the local skills required to deliver projects.
“With expert procurement advisers now available locally, Gippsland businesses can build their capability and have the confidence to tender as part of major projects across the state,” said Mr Spence.
As well as the 92-strong network of GROW Gippsland Compact Members, Gippsland businesses can also connect with the broader GROW network of more than 200 Compact Members across the state involved in G21 Geelong, Bendigo, Ballarat and Greater Shepparton GROW programs.
