GROW in Practice: A snapshot of 60 Compact Members

On November 18, GROW Gippsland celebrated 60 incredible Compact Members!

And those that couldn’t be there on the day: 1st Avenue Constructions, BAMITS, BMD Group, Bass Coast Shire Council, Boral Resources, DELWP Gippsland, Gippsland and East Gippsland Aboriginal Co-operative, Manny’s Market Morwell, Randy Sanchez Sauce Co., Towcha Technology, Traralgon Tyrepower and Wombarra Consulting.

Along with recognising the commitment made by the Compact Members, where they received a certificate and name badge (created by local social enterprise Latrobe Valley Enterprises), attendees heard from guest speakers Chris Mahon from GEO Group, Emma Steele from Rail Projects Victoria, Brett Singh from Marathon Electrical and students from Traralgon College participating in the Broadening Horizons program, with program manger Rebecca Ottery.

Inspiring stories of creating pathways for the next generation, guiding people with barriers to work into employment, boosting local employment opportunities with renewable energy or building supplier capability while building a bridge (literally) were told, showing off all the Gippsland region has to be proud of and encouraged by.

The GROW Gippsland Compact is a commitment made by businesses and organisations to increasing their local spend in Gippsland, including socially procuring, and assisting in creating job opportunities for those with barriers to work.

Thank you to Harriet Shing MP for joining us to congratulate this important group of businesses and organisations.
