Why did you choose to be a part of GROW Gippsland?
TAFE Gippsland recognises its role as a key enabler within the economic development fabric of Gippsland and as such seeks to demonstrate optimum community and industry participation processes to grow our region and the economic and social opportunities for our community.

What are you doing to support local business?
We engage with local business and industry partners to determine their training requirements. We then tailor quality vocational skills training courses required to meet the individual needs of those local industries, businesses and the communities in which we operate.

Why do you think it’s important to employ locally?
Local jobs create opportunities for retention of skilled people in our communities. The skilled jobs build better communities, create wealth and spending is retained to ensure communities remain viable for future generations.

Tell us about a time that you were proud to be a part of your business/organisation:
TAFE Gippsland has responded well to the challenges facing the Latrobe Valley community with the loss of major industry and associated jobs. Our Skills and Job Centres and individual campuses provide high quality career advice and support to workers to instill a sense of worth and offer career advice and pathways that will help shape their future working opportunities.
