Inspiration in the construction sector
Todd Ferguson, Project Manager from GROW Gippsland Compact Member CPB Contractors, recently presented at the Kick Start Your Career in Construction graduation at the Heyfield Community Resource Centre.
The 6-week pre-employment program provided participants with entry-level skills for working in construction, employment preparation, language and literacy skills and a White Card.
The Latrobe Valley Authority, Gippsland Trades & Labour Council Inc, Gippsland Learn Local, and Heyfield Community Resource Centre supported this course, opening up opportunities for unemployed and underemployed job seekers to kick start their career.
CPB Contractors are delivering the Avon River Bridge Upgrade as part of the Regional Rail Revivals Gippsland Line Upgrade. The GROW Gippsland team is working with Rail Projects Victoria and CPB Contractors to identify opportunities to boost the local economy through engaging local suppliers and creating employment opportunities for the Gippsland region.
