Local opportunities intended as Avon River Bridge contract awarded

CPB Contractors have been awarded the contract to design and build the new Avon River bridge in Stratford.

The contractors will work closely with GROW Gippsland and the local community, to identify opportunities for local employment and procurement, intended to maximise the Gippsland economy.

With construction set to begin later this year, the Avon River bridge upgrade, being delivered as part of the Regional Rail Revival Gippsland Line Upgrade, will allow trains to travel up to 90km/h, improving reliability on the line for commuters.
