Local suppliers playing part in sporting complex project

A $8.5 million redevelopment project at Cameron Sporting Complex in Maffra is determining 95% local spend.
The project, supported by Compact Members, Latrobe Valley Authority and Wellington Shire Council, along with Maffra Amateur Basketball Association and Maffra Gymnastics Club, includes the redevelopment of the existing gymnastics area, construction of two new multi-purpose courts and refurbishment of the existing basketball court.
Brooker Builders from Bairnsdale won the project tender and have determined that 95 per cent of sub-contractors are from within Gippsland.
The GROW Gippsland program supports GROW Compact Members to keep spend in the region and introduce job opportunities.
