Why did you choose to be a part of GROW Gippsland?

A key consideration in the development of our Procurement Strategy is the economic and social benefits that Marinus Link will bring to the Gippsland region of Victoria. This includes, where possible, the opportunity to support local suppliers and job creation during project execution. Our membership of GROW Gippsland provides us with direct access to tools, training and networks to help build a stronger local supply chain and ensure the economic and social benefits of Project Marinus stay within the Gippsland region.

What are you doing to support local business?

Our Procurement Strategy considers the economic and social benefits that Project Marinus will bring to the Gippsland region of Victoria and aims to support opportunities for local suppliers and local employment. A supply chain portal has been established with Industry Capability Network (ICN) and we encourage local suppliers to register their interest in the project here. We look forward to working closely with GROW Gippsland to identify further opportunities for local businesses as the project progresses.

Why do you think it’s important to employ locally?

Local employment generates positive social value for communities, resulting in increased individual wellbeing and strong economic outcomes. Project Marinus provides the opportunity to increase regional skills and capability across the renewable energy transition within the Gippsland region.
